Important Blind Installation Service Terms
If you are considering having new window treatments installed at your home or office, it is a good idea to consider your options. Vertical blinds are a popular choice for large windows and doors, because they are easy to use. The following are a few important blind installation terms to know.
Venetian – Venetian blinds is composed of horizontal slats that are suspended above one another. These slats are connected by cords or cloth, on which they can be rotated to adjust the amount of light coming into a room. The blinds can also be raised and lowered by a cord. Venetian blinds are a relatively affordable and popular window covering.
Vertical – Vertical blinds are hung vertically across a window along a roller track. They can be rotated to adjust the light in a room or rolled back along the track to completely expose the window. These blinds are popular in front of floor to ceiling windows and sliding glass doors, in addition to or instead of curtains.
Roman Shades – Roman shades are a type of window covering that can be used to completely block out light. When they are pulled up to allow light in, roman shades stack into even folds of fabric.
Roller Shades – Roller shades are often installed behind curtains to create more privacy or blackout lights from outside a home. Roller shades are smooth sheets of fabric or synthetic material that are raised and lowered by rolling around a tube placed at the top of the window.
Vanes – Vanes are the individual panels that make up vertical blinds. Vanes are commonly made from materials like vinyl, plastic or fabric.
