Yoga is made up of varying positions, poses, breathing exercises, meditation, and muscle stretches. The focus is on teaching balance and achieving personal tranquility through a system of poses and postures, such as inversions, core strengthening poses, twists, and standing yoga poses. The origins of pre-classical yoga can be traced back to the Upanishads, which were written between 1000-5000 BC. But exact dates and origins are largely unknown. This spiritual ritual involves a mat, the appropriate clothing, and some intense concentration. Looking for a yoga instruction class near you? Some yoga instructors offer prenatal classes for pregnant women. Classes range from beginner to advanced, and some classes are offered on spiritual retreats. The workout level you choose depends on your ability and personal preferences.
