| Maybe I'm in the wrong site. I hope not. I was fired two days ago from a job I held for seven years. A co-worker sat near a friend and me at a football game, listened to a private conversation about our children and my life. She took information, twisted it to make it sound like something it wasn't. One week later, I was called into the office of my administrator and asked if what was reported was true. I denied the allegations, ask them to bring that person into the meeting so that I could clear up a very much avoidable situation. I was told no and handed my dismissal papers. I was fired based on that information. I could and still can prove that I did not speak against the institution that fired me, but was not allowed to do so. Do I have grounds for a law suit? What about the freedom of speech and especially the freedom to speak privately about issues that pertain to my family? |
