Christmas..will It Be Good For My Child?

Okay..I see that thereare aolt of Parents wanting to give theor children a good chrsitmas..just to let them know I understand what they are going thru. I myself am a single mom with one child living with me, and the other with his father. My son who is with me, bless his soul..understands that this christmas, there may not be any presents for him..he already knows there wont be any decorations. I lost my job the beginning of thismonth, all the money I did have had to go to saving our house so we could have a place out of the cold. But now it means my son wont be able to get things he needs and wants for that jolly holiday. I have located another job, but I wont be getting any money until after the holidays and that has to go towards food, and our rent. Needless to say, the only family my son has is myself and his father, who has had a terrible track record with jobs. So I am not expecting any help from him, he has his own family. My son, his name is London , lost his grandfather 2 years ago. That was the only other family member we had. I guess what I am trying to say..Is If any one can help make my childs christmas a bit brighter than it is now... I would appreciate it, and I know that the Lord will find you a place in heaven for makeing an innocent soul happy.

Re: Christmas..will It Be Good For My Child?
I have made posts about help for Christmas help for my 5 children and have heard nothing. I live in maine and there is no assistance in my area. We are out of the jurisdiction for any help from salvation army and social services does not offer nay assistance. Please if there is anyone who can offer even one present for my children it would mean the difference from having something under the tree this year and not. This year has been so hard and now has seem to have gotten worse. Our vehicle needs major repairs( over 1000.00 worth, my daughter lost conciousness last night for 20 minutes coupled with migrains and the doctors do not know what is wrong, and my husband's hours at work have been cut back due to the economy up here, our electricity is over due and we are looking at a shut off. We are struggling to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. We have no family to turn to. I am disabled due to a work injury to the vertabras in my back and arthritis has set into the injury. The doctors have said that at the present there is no surgery available to me to help with the problem. I always worked atleast 50 hours a week before my injury. So now I am on ssdi and feel less than that for once in my life I cannot provide for my children. If anyone can help, PLEASE email me at joeandjan2001@yahoo.com. Thank you and God please bless all the people here asking for help this season for their children.

Re: Christmas..will It Be Good For My Child?
Janet, even tho people may not answer..I am sure that there is someone out there who is seeking a family to give whatis needed to. My late grandfather always told me that there were people out there willing and able to help. But sometimes they cannot take their handsout of their pockets to give what is needed. I wish you the best of Luck..as for your daughter I suggest, since you are on ssdi to get medicare for your family, or at least title 19, you do qualify under the united states need for assisstance with this. I suffer from chronic migrians myself, but I make due with over the counter meds, for now, and only go to the emergency room when I cannot function normally i.e seizures, black outs..etc. Then when you get the assistance, find a speacilist within your state, or another...and have your daughter checked out ...this couldbe something serious as an anurism. As for lacking of assistance, thesalvation army helps low income families only...I used to live there, homeless actually,, and mind you they arent very nice to homeless persons. Unfortunantly here, the salvation army has the criteria you have to apply for the christmas help before a certain date, after that itis the luck of the draw, and my luck is bad. Mayhap your husband should look for other work now that he has the time to do it, or perhapes like I am about to do, pull two jobs to help make ends meet. I lost my job the beginning of december, because of a court order of visitation with my youngest son..it was either I showed for the visitaions or I didnt see him again because I couldnt be counted on, my job didnt understand it even when it was there in front of them in black and white. I am sorry, this was supposed to be about you...forgiv me. In some places, I am not sure about where you are, but the ssdi people have information and certain programs that help thos on disability give presents to their family on christmas or birthdays, as long as it id the imediate family, in other words, if you have children under a certain age. Contact your local government or the ssdi office...and ask for thir help. And I wouldnt give up so soon on the Salvation army either. Bug em. If they truelly do not have a program, rally all the low income families struggling this christmas together, and visit your govenor. You may be the person to change this policy in your state. Once again good luck and if it helps any Merry Christmas and God Bless You

God in Heaven, Jesus H. Christ people - she can afford the INTERNET, but can't afford __________? Maybe the Department of Health and Human Services would be interested in hearing about this.
