For your information (and animal education), the pure white German Shepherd breed was first bred in 1899, and his name was "Hector", considered by all to be the "father of the German Shepherd dog"! Hector portrayed "recessive white genes". Many early herdsmen preferred the "white coat" of this particular breed beacuse it was much easier to distinguish this particular dog from the "wolves"!
"Prior to the 1900's, an effort to develop a pure strain of white German Shepherds in Austria, was requested by the Queen of Hapsburg, who wanted "pure white German Shepherds to go with their white gowns and the magnificant Lipizzan horses."
