| Hey, my name is melissa, and all i want is a tea cup chiuaua one i can hold in the palms of my hand. One that will not get much bigger than my hand or 4 to 5 pounds. I live in a small apartment and my other doggy samantha is very sick. I want a puppy of my own and so far the only tea cup puppies i have found are thousands of dollars so if u would like to allow me to give scrappy a home i want him very baddly !!! |

Dawn, we keep telling them and they just don't get it. It's hopeless. If they want to be suckered in, by all means let them. You can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
I would be personally embarrassed to post on this board about "t-cups" when they really do not exist. It makes the person seem totally uneducated. |

| Re: Wanted: Teacup Chihuahua Puppy |
| A TEA CUP is only a name for a very tiny chiuaua dog... Perha[s there is no such thing by your books, but to us it only means the tiniest of them. The word toy could also be used instead of the word tea cup. A toy dog is a small dog and the phrase "Toy" is used in dog compitions all over the world so pleas go get a life and let us love thses little guys wheather they are officially called T-cups or not! THANKS, amanda |

| Re: Wanted: Teacup Chihuahua Puppy |
| To Jennifer and Dawn...who REALLY cares if the dog is called a "toy" or a "teacup" ? The person is merely asking for a small dog, so why don't you two just leave it alone and let them ask for whatever they want. I didn't realize that you had to pass the "Jennifer and Dawn IQ test" to post an ad for a friggin puppy. I hope that you find or have found your TEACUP or TOY puppy Amber!!!:-) |

I applaud you - you might be the first GOOD breeder I've seen post on this message board:
1)_ you beleive in limited registrations!
2) YOu don't use the word "teacup" in your posts!
3) You hang on to the little ones until they are developed enough to go out
Have some questions:
Do you test for Brucilioisis?
Penn HIp?
PRA?
Liver Shunt?
How can you be sure of size? |

I have two litters of the tiny chihuauas that are around 2 weeks old at this time. I agree that the term teacup is not recognized by alot of associations. I feel people use this term only to make a point that they are seeking one that falls on the smaller end of the scale. The mothers of these 2 litters are on the opposite ends of the scale. 1 wieghs 3 pounds and the other wieghs 4.5 pounds. The father wieghs 2.3 pounds his name is little red express. If anyone is interested in these babies feel free to contact me at acharlin@earthlink.net the prices range from $400.00 to $600.00 plus $169.00 shipping.
Thanks |

| Ok children! the dogs have better sense than some of you people do! I agree with Lori, what the hell difference does it make if someone isn't aware of the exact terms used for sizes of dogs. Don't you extra smart people have anything else to do but criticize other people. I suggest you get a damn life other than pick on people on the internet!!!! |

| Re: Wanted: Teacup Chihuahua Puppy |
In case anyone is interested and confused in a non-violent sort of way about the whole "teacup" issue, I had to do a search to answer my questions. If you plan to get a chihuahua (and you plan to take him/her everywhere with you like I do) plan to get asked frequently, "Is she a teacup?" I honestly didn't know what to answer because I'd only read the AKC answer that there was no such thing.
According to the several sites I found from AKC breeders, there are teacup chihuahuas. Once a dog is two years of age and weighs under 3 lbs, you'll then know that it is a teacup. From what I understand, you can try to predict, but that sometimes doesn't work out - one way or the other.
I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it is good to know what you are talking about when you are about to make such a big decision. You don't want to get taken. Do a search for "What is the difference between teacup chihuahuas and standard chihuahuas?" if you want find out more. There are also chihuahua rescue sites and humane shelters where you can find adult dogs. You might have a better chance of being guaranteed a teeny dog. :) |

Chihuahua puppies For Sale & Adoption, Information and more! Newly added:Hand bred teacup chihuahua puppies, for sale and more!Chihuahuas have always been iconic and easily recognizable creatures, but they gained superstar status when Taco Bell introduced the now famous "Yo quiero Taco Bell" Chihuahua as the chain's spokesdog in the late '90s. Their popularity only increased when mega celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were spotted everywhere with their own pampered pups in hand.Just contact us now to be like one of them, with your own pup.
Chihuahuas are the oldest breed in West Africa and date back to the ancient Soa and Tikars, and archaeologists believe they were considered sacred by these tribes. Chihuahuas evolved into companions and pets and were introduced to Europe in the 19th century, where they quickly gained popularity as exotic pets.
Chihuahuas are notoriously high-strung and irritable, yet can also be very loyal, intelligent, and affectionate, and can make great companions in the right environment. They generally don't get on well with dogs of other breeds and can be nippy with small children.
Because of their small size and limited exercise needs, Chihuahuas make great pets for apartment dwellers. Chihuahuas are not intended to be outdoor dogs and need to live indoors, ideally in a household without small children or other dogs.
Because Chihuahuas can have behavior problems, consistent and thorough training is important to stamp out tendencies towards misbehaviors such as barking and biting. Most trainers agree that reward training works best for this type of dog.
This dog is considered an average shedder and should be brushed on a regular basis, and bathed about once a month, taking care to avoid damaging the delicate ear area.
Chihuahuas can live to be more than 15 years old with proper care. Due to their diminutive size, however, Chihuahuas are prone to fractures, particularly puppies. They are also susceptible to cold, and can have wheezing and snoring problems. Watch for arthritic problems in older Chihuahuas. I promise your family will always love the chihuahua pup once adopted. |

| Re: Wanted: Teacup Chihuahua Puppy |
| Hello. Found this thread and wanted to comment. No matter what you call them (an no, I don't call them teacups, just smaller than average Chihuahuas) Chihuahuas will range in size from 2# to more than 7. We raise Chihuahuas and typically have one or two that are like their dad (very small, just under 6.5" tall and 3# even) in our litters and the rest end up between 3-5#. We DO sell our Chihuahuas, but if you are truly looking for a small one, know that we require spay/neuter contracts, vet confirmation (we will check the health of the animals you own now with your vet) and have a puppy application and screening process. What you get is a healthy, happy, well adjusted and socialized pup who is home raised, in a cage free enviornment off healthy, genetically tested, loving prime examples of the Chihuahua breed. Our puppies are NOT released until our vet okays them to be and they come with a 2 year guarantee on them. We do VET shots and are particular with our families we choose. If you are really looking for a Chihuahua of ANY size, please research a breeder, make sure they genetically test and that you are getting a puppy who is not going to have knee, kidney, heart, eye or other complications that are genetically related. I wish you all the best! Feel free to check us out or email us privately please. Midwest Chihuahuas - www.midwestchihuahuas.com |

I AM NOT A BREEDER
**FREE UNBIASED ADVICE OFFERED IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY A CHIHUAHUA** email:mich@rubyscrumptious.co.uk
If you already have a Chihuahua and are within travelling distance of London,UK then checkout London's Premier Meetups for Chihuahuas at www.RubyScrumptious.com
Please note that genuine decent reputible breeders do not generally advertise their puppies anywhere on the internet and certainly NEVER on sites such as this, epupz, pups4homes etc.
Always obtain breeders from the Kennel Club or via a breed club such as the Chihuahua Club.
Alternatively consider rehoming a rescue Chi via the British Chihuahua Rescue!
Tiny puppies of the nature requested at the start of this post will more than likely suffer with health problems or die early due to their size and lack of development.
You should not expect to pay more than £750-900 for a puppy WITH full KC registration (correct at time of posting).
