Hi Sonya,
You may get some additional replies if you provide the OFA certification numbers for your bitch for her hips, heart, elbows and the CERF # for her eyes. Most ethical breeders need all this information prior to even considering a bitch for breeding.
Another thing you should let everyone know about are the titles she has earned in the ring. If she has not proven herself in the ring to conform to the American Rottweiler Club Breed Standard, how do you know she should even be bred?
Please don't just randomly breed her, make sure she adheres to the breed standard, make sure you get all her health certifications and make her earn some titles to prove that she should produce good puppies.
Don't just randomly breed her and have the puppies end up in the pound or the products of other back yard breeders.
Do you have a contract you will use to sell the puppies? You should be willing to put in writing that you will guarantee the temperament and health of the puppies for life and that you will guarantee that you will be willing to take back any puppy (or mature dog) that you breed that does not work out it the home you place it in.
Lots to think about before breeding, please THINK about it! |

Hi,
We currenlty live in Arizona, but are native Oregonians. We are hoping to move back around Christmas. We have a male Rotty that we are wanting to breed. I would want to make sure that both dogs meet the proper stipulations....etc. If you want more information about our dog, I can pass that along. I am new to this too, so I am not sure what age is best. |
