You talk about the long lean Rottweiler like it's something new & how through evolution they have changed. Have you even looked at a Rottweiler book that displayed pictures of a GERMAN Rottweilers only 100 yrs ago. Try looking up a picture of Ralph V. Neckar (1907) or Russ v. Bruckenbuckel, they displays a long back & muzzle. Over all the dogs lack the substance we see today in Rottweilers. These older pictures show dogs with no large blockly heads or defined muscle tone & these are 100% German Dogs. Seems to me they look more like the American version that many of you keep descibing & still keep insisting that there is a difference between the American & German Rottweiler. Rottweiler most certainly have not evoled from Dobermans
