Don't get tricked into thinking this place wants to sign your band. The owner does not care about music, nor does he play any music. He only wants your money.

Too bad, the studio is beautiful.

I was scheduled for an interview for an internship position at 10 AM. The owner doesn't come in until 3 hours later. Rather than apologizing for being late, he tells me (all in a very condescending tone) that in order to be an intern, I must put up with 6 months of dirty work. He then asks me: "So do you want to intern here? There's a stack of dishes. Get to them." How is that, in any way, remotely professional? Also, he asked me to bring a resume to the interview, and he barely took 2 seconds to look at it. It became clear to me that they weren't looking for an intern with brains, but rather, an intern that they would do mindless, dirty work without giving it a second thought. Oh and I almost forgot. The main engineer there doesn't have a musical background. I had the privilege of watching him work with a client, and in short, it was a very frustrating experience. He suggested that the client perform his piece at HALF the TEMPO, in order to match the groove of the drum beat (to keep time). I politely suggested the idea of adding more subdivisions for the drum beat, to make playing to the drum track easier. The engineer ignored and continued to insist that the client cut his tempo in half. I wonder if it occurred to him that by doing so, the song would essentially be ruined. Probably not!

This is the BEST studio in Orange County. The first thing you see when you walk in are the 3 gold records and 2 platinum records on the wall earned by the owner Frank. Since it's a family owned business, the atmosphere is very humble and professional. There are so many studios that are in peoples houses, in a garage, or in some rehearsal room. But this place is built to capture the highest quality of sound. The walls are all floating wood, the equipment is top notch and the quality of sound you will get from the studio is outstanding. It's also a great place to network. The staff is very professional and makes for a very creative atmosphere. I would recommend any band or artist who are serious about their music career to record at this studio. The support, quality, professionalism and insight you will gain from the studio is priceless. Definitely check this place out!
