Day camps provide children with social, educational and physical outlets, as they often involve sports, music, or science. Young boys and girls or teens are often are sent to day camps by their parents to get intense physical or education opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise get. Camps are thought to be important to proper growth and development in teens and children, as well as proper social interaction skills, education, exercise and the ability to explore. Day camps are typically put on by city recreation departments, private day camp providers, organizations and associations.
